Kat has been doing the "Stargate Babies" cartoons for a while now on the rda.com forum -- I'm hoping she'll eventually start posting them on her own LJ, but till then, I get to pimp post them here.
Probably because, even though they're toddlers, the slashy vibe is still there. It's transmuted but not eliminated. Even though both of the kids are usually fully clothed.
Amazing episode. The one I'll always go back to when I start to doubt my sanity for actually seeing J/D in the show...
My friend and I were talking about the fact that, if watched in a certain way, which probablytm wasn't originally intended, it almost feels like Sam and Daniel are juxtaposed to one another as possible love interests, each of an unconventional sort, for Jack. Sam is obvious because she's a girl, but both of them are off-limits for one reason or another and the show seems to go out of its way to point to the fact that Sam and Daniel are kind of opposite one another, but both fit that yin-yang thing with Jack.
In fact, Sam's original entry into the show had several lines of dialogue that kind of, in my wacky opinion, lampshaded the fact that Jack knew he would end up liking her in the end, in spite of the fact that he begrudged it a bit, because he already knew he had ended up liking Daniel. All of this can be read as platonic subtext to a point, but what's the fun in that?
...but yeah... I'm kind of buying into my own juxtaposition nonsense more and more with every episode I watch lately.
