besides, Mac could probably make a pony! All he needs is that broomstick over there... and some dryer lint... baling wire, a park bench, and an apple.

As long as Mac is happy with his pony, why shouldn't Pete indulge him? Although Mac had better pony up and clean up after his pet, with no horseplay.
