Do you actually know what an alternator is? I don't "get" cars at all and would be happiest if I never ever had to drive one. [caption went incredibly well with the protective hands position, LOL.]

I understand alternators in general, but I'm much happier dismantling and reassembling computers than I am getting under the hood of a car. Less oily!

And yes, the caption for this one pretty much wrote itself! I did have to consult with one of my Technical Experts to make sure I had the right name for the car part.

'Whatchamacallit' is acceptable between good friends, but considered politically incorrect otherwise.

'Gizmo' is in regular usage amongst an older generation of doohickeys, but is generally regarded as derogatory by modern thingummys.
