You know, with most people if their tunnel vision narrows, they aren't in serious danger of concussion. In Mac's case that may not be true, no doubt due to a miner error. It will no doubt also be a heady sensation when he figures out how to do this in a more conventional way. His intense focus may no longer be able to rock his world, but then I'm sure the frequent concussions are not very gneiss either. Not having to fear being heads-up when he thinks may decrease a level of anxiety that he now takes for granite, and open up new facets of investigation. He might even feel a little sedimental about the hole thing.

What a coincidence! I've been building a tunnel from my bedroom to Mac's houseboat for some years. I was doing pretty good, until the flooding...
