We all know that Mac is very handy and always goes for the bare bones solution, but this is carrying it a step too far!
My family teased me mercilessly for years, because at the age of 3 1/2, looking at my grandmother (who was then all of 51, and who lived to be 97) and contemplating death and the skeletons we would all become, I contemplated for a while, and then said "When you are very old, we will call you Old Bony." In my young mind, there was a beauty and a power to this, because it would rhyme with my nickname, but that was a bit too hard (and self-evident) to explain at that age.
Well, in a way that's true, because she was abroad studying cello in Vienna when she met my grandfather, who was there seeing Europe and climbing in the Alps in a year between Harvard undergrad and law school. Towards the end of their marriage (she reached a point when she felt the only true expression of love that was left to her was to say "You must choose between drinking and me!" and he chose the bottle, so, bluff called, she left him) they were stationed in Paris, which she loved. She traveled all over Europe and delighted in it. My grandfather (who may have been Our Man in Paris) never did live long enough to see the Berlin Wall come down, so Russia remained unconquered for them...
