The hosts were particularly happy about Jack's dry wit, since it gave them a new topic to talk about after the conversation had dried up. Well, for them anyway. Daniel could have talked forever about the importance of not only the absence of words, but the importance of the specific places of the invisible words.
Jack however could only stand for a limited amount of silence before he needed something for his dry throat. Their hosts apparently agreed, and the conversation moved on to how invisible water glasses were perfect for holding invisible water and other invisible drinks. Daniel was visibly unhappy.

Hee! I bet Jack managed to slip some invisible whisky into his invisible water. Possibly into Daniel's as well.

Hihi, that depends... if the whisky makes Daniel more talkative or less... As for his own glass...definitely. It wasn't even all that hard to slip the whisky past General Hammond and through the gate. Or perhaps the General just turned a blind eye - he knew how Daniel got when he was excited about languages, especially unwritten and unspoken ones.
Regardless, the only difficulty was keeping track of its location. All the more reason to make sure it was well and truly invisible...and you know... gone.
He just knew one of their hosts agreed with him when he realized the host in question was sipping an invisible dry white wine himself.
