Special tech tip for Firefox users!
With extra hugs to dalizzie da geek!
If you’re using Firefox, you’re missing the mouseover texts, which means all kinds of Extra Special Jokes are going on, and you’re missing them. Well, maybe the jokes aren’t all that special, but still.
Two things to do: Go to ‘Tools’, then ‘Addons’, then ‘Get Add-ons’, then ‘Browse All Add-ons’
Search for, and install, Popup ALT Attribute (to make the alt text appear as a mouseover text) or IE Tab (to allow you to load an IE tab within Firefox).
You can install both. If you install IE Tab, you’ll get a little icon in the bottom right-hand corner of each browser tab. Usually, it will be the Firefox icon. Click on it to toggle back and forth between IE and Firefox; the icon will change.
An added level of coolness is that it will only apply to the one tab; your other browser tabs will stay Firefoxy.

Now you can go back and read all the old ones! But if you're not back in a week, we're sending search parties.

This is helpful advice, though. Unfortunately, I use a very old Mozilla version, and should update and upgrade first. I don't think I have anything that is called tools or add-ons.
Guess the easiest solution is just using IE for these ;) (as I do for anything that is Javascript)
Thanks anyway!

There are a couple of wonderful add-ons for suppressing advertisements, too, which is how I ended up testing Firefox in the first place.
(Oh, BTW, feel free to PM me any time you want clarification of a joke. Since the spelling and grammar are messed up, it's all the more difficult to figure it out across a language barrier.)

And thanks for the offer of translating, but usually I sneak in at work to have a look, but can't write long messages there, and till the evening I already forgot. I am actually now very good in understanding your "weird" words and get the meaning - just don't get what is funny about lines like "I'm in your wood hugging your trees" (just one I remember right now).
Some make me smile, though - but I never can think of any witty comment, so I keep quiet.

If you want to upgrade, go to this website:
www.getfirefox.com
and download it there. Or not. Your choice.
As for the jokes: some of them are versions of stock jokes taken from the LOLCats site, and many of those, in turn, came from online gaming memes. The riff in 'Treehugger' is one of these. The original line, in response to the question "Where are you?" was "im in ur base, killin ur doods'. It appears often as "im in ur [wherever], [doing something to] ur [whatever]" I turned that into a Mac-line.
Another joke of this kind is the search for the bukkit (bucket), which was stolen from a walrus (or LOLrus) on LOLCats early in the site's history. They've been making bukkit jokes ever since. I sometimes make 'jakkit' jokes that relate to this. The original caption was 'i haz a bukkit/ o no they be stealin mai bukkit' -- I've done a couple of parodies of that.
Many of the LOLCats show 'persistent cat' or 'dramatic cat' or 'taco cat', etc. -- so we have persistent Mac, investigating Mac, botanical Jack, etc.
Other jokes that I've borrowed include sightings of Ceiling Cat (or Ceiling Mac), comments that something 'has a flavr' (flavour), and another line from online gaming, "all ur base are belong to us". I turned that into a line for Jack, and a joke about fishing: "all ur bass are belong to us".
And one of the popular riffs is the "invisible objects" joke, which works well with cats and even better with RDA, because of his hands.

(Yes, I actually did take 18 months - battling Linux, changing computers, and being absent-minded - to get a simple add-on installed. I'm still not quite sure why I work in ITS... *lol*)

While you're at it, install AdBlock, if you haven't already!
And then go back through the archives . . . if you haven't already!
Jack has taken over my mind
I am assuming that I have been taken over by extreme stoopid, and will have to make up my own mouseover jokes. Hate FireFox 4.0 with a flaming passion.
*sigh*
Oh well, back to sewing...

Re: Jack has taken over my mind
Firefox 4.0 is new and shiny. So new and shiny that none of the old tools work in it.
I used Firefox 4.0 for about 90 seconds before I threw it out and went back to the previous version. I love Firefox because of the add-ons. Without them, it's just another browser.
I guess I'll have to monitor Firefox, and make some kind of announcement when they get their sh*t together. If they do.
Edited: I just checked on Firefox compatibility, and added my voice to the others pleading for the update.
Edited again! It's been updated and is now compatible!

(Yes, I suck and didn't do it forever, but I had the mouseovers at work and such, so...okay, yeah, I suck. But it's done now! Yay!)
