It's one of my favorite episodes too -- aside from the fact it hiccups and sticks on my DVD. It has some great character work, and proves that RDA can sit on his butt and still act very, very well.
There are some good "after the fact" fan fictions out there too...
I think it was BadgerGater that also had one out, but the site is missing now.
The episode (and several others I can think of) definitely lend themselves to continuations. It always rattles my brain when episodes end and it's like: "...but I want to see more!" It happens in MacGyver too.
Somebody said she is also going on LJ now. Thanks for the link, will go read the ff now. It is possible I know it already, have read my fair share of Corine, but don't mind reading again!
Stargate was the first fandom I ever started to write in, and it was with open questions that were left after episode endings, just like you describe.
Thanks for the link update! Badgergater is one of my all time favorite writers in the SG-1 universe. I was quite upset to see her site go down. I wish she would start writing again -- she's very good.
Corine is too -- some very nice stories son her site.
You know, totally not related to your LOLJack, but when seeing pictures like this I always wonder - because of all the scrunched up faces he had to do in his career, all the acting of pain - are we fans responsible that his face might end up in a lot more wrinkles than it would without this?
I like to think that it's offset by all the times we've made him smile.
But the acted pain would be far outstripped by the real pain, which mostly arose from injuries that were essentially self-inflicted , having been acquired during voluntary leisure activities (skiing, for example). The only injury he got on the set was the one to his back (although that was a doozy.)

If I had to pick just one episode out of all of SG-1, this would be it. *snuggles Jack*

Yeah, another one I strangely feel guilty about, since he was "on duty" for us, his fans ;)

Oh! That is beautiful! Thank you for let me see things from a different angle. Yeah, that really helps! *hugs*
