"Space Monkey" is absolute squeee for me too (one of my absolute favorite scenes)...the crack about no Space Monkeys has to do with a really goofy/silly cartoon I did as a joke waaaay back on the RDA site. Jack & Daniel as two monkeys who pestered me to draw the human caricatures of them, which I cannot do for the life of me. A few well-meaning fans had asked me to draw the monkeys again. That badly drawn cartoon has haunted me for 2 years now...*running away shrieking*
I probably would have been among those people, had I been aware at the time.
That scene took me a little off-guard, the first time I saw it (which was recently). However, after my initial sort of bug eyed expression, I immediately melted into a puddle of excited squee and watched it far more times than is healthy. However, in spite of the sweetness of it, I also simply find it hilarious because it's so random and strange.
(backing away in sheer terror) My cartooning skills have improved *slightly*, but I still can't draw adult J & D worth a rat's butt. The Space Monkeys were a stall tactic that backfired horribly on me. No Monkeys...No Monkeys!!! Aaaaaaah!!
...Did MB put you up to this? *eyeing suspiciously*
No, I didn't say that you should be doing adult J&D -- I thought you should do Space Monkeys with Dak and Danny. You could even have the Space Monkeys off-screen, or as monkey tails peeking out from behind something, and then you wouldn't even have to draw the monkeys.
I know you aren't into drawing the adults. I just thought the squirts could have a lot of fun with Space Monkeys!
