I have my LJ prefs set to AUTOMATICALLY GENERATE a Tweet for every public LJ comment I leave (unless I uncheck the crosspost box). The link that LJ generates via the j.mp URL-shortening domain doesn't link to the original post, but links directly to the comment URL.
The layout you're using is the ONLY one that doesn't display the original post when the j.mp URL is clicked in the auto-Tweet (exemplum gratum). Even when you scroll up, the original post doesn't display beyond the Subject line & comment-number links. (http://j.mp/JxPkyE ) In all other LJ layouts that my auto-Tweets link to, the user can see the original post. Except in this upside-down LOLMac layout. lolol
In order for my Twitter followers to see what I'm responding to on your LJ, I'd have to un-tick the Twitter crosspost box, leave the comment, then go to my Twitter app & copy-paste my comment with the URL to your main post. Which I've done a few times, but it's extra steps. Sometimes I don't bother leaving a comment & compose a special Tweet that links to the OP. But there's no way you'd know I Tweeted a link to your post unless I tell you in a comment afterwards, or you deduce it from the #hashtags in the Subject line when I feel like using the Subject line.
[FYI: I have to view your LJ in ?style=mine in order to even SEE the crosspost boxes to uncheck them.]
Then again -- apropos of nothing -- it's not like my auto-Tweets add any value to your life. I have no idea if anyone even clicks the links in my Tweets or if there's any difference in your site traffic because of them. But I try!
Ah, I hadn't known just what went into the auto-generation. The pimpage is truly appreciated (even though I don't use Twitter, I do know about hashtags and I do see your tweets in my Flist). I'm especially glad that you yourself are enjoying teh lulz. Thank you!
IT'S HARD OUT HERE FOR A PIMP
