I’ve been watching the inauguration, and supporting the future of the Kleenex industry. You’ll have to enjoy this re-run for the moment. icanhastofu.com Image from: rda_daily
I was commenting to the Resident Canadian on how USA troops standing around in dress uniform look so much more put together than Australian troops. You have reinforced my feelings on this subject.
Alas, I missed it all because I was (uncharacteristically) up early for a meeting about The Whirlwind up at the school, and took the opportunity to spare Beloved Husband a chore in his busy week, and do the grocery shopping (requiring a 45 minute drive each way). I shall soon be looking up the transcripts online.
You know, having the blues would be much more popular if more people could make a habit of doin it ryte. I imagine there would be a long line waiting to do those. [Looks wistfully at line, goes to stand loyally by Beloved Husband. Married, not dead!]
Ohhh -- no, I'm not sick, far from it! We both got very teary-eyed is all. In the best way.
The world's most prominent black leader put Selma and Stonewall in the same sentence. I don't really have words to describe how incredible it was, sitting there and watching it happen, live, in real time. I went from mild teariness to outright weeping, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I was already happy, you see, and then . . . that happened.
Yeah, I didn't know about that. I came home from work and went to sleep. Twitter rumbled a bit at me before I passed out, so I then knew there was something going on, but it completely flew under my radar.
A lot of things fly under my radar in that way. if not for Twitter, I'd never know anything. Of course, Twitter keeps me pretty well informed, but I rarely see things like this live, so to speak.
