Oh yeah. This has been out of use for its original purpose for what looks like a few years, but the tags seem to indicate they may have caps from a good number of episodes and stuff. I haven't had a good poke around yet, but when I found it, I thought I'd share in case there was anything of note:

That's Illya Kuryakin, the Russian agent from "The Man From Uncle" . . . long enough ago that I wasn't supposed to stay up late enough to watch it . . . did anyway.
Back when I first started watching New Series Doctor Who and bought the soundtrack, my mom said that the music reminded her of The Man from Uncle, which came on when she was... some age. I don't know.
Hugh Jackman, no less. In three different incarnations. One as a doctor, the second as a Spanish Conquistador, and the third as the epitome of a treehugger.
It is a visually fascinating film. You will need a box of kleenex, a full set of Encyclopedia, and possibly a visit to counselor afterward. Have a supply of chocolate and a comedy DVD on hand to aid in recovery.
Mac and Illya could get away, but only if they want to . . . so the plan is for them not to want to.
The question isn't dumb at all; I lapsed into pop culture shorthand. I came up with the expression last year when I was asked why I liked MacGyver so much. I replied that it was a Wizard-of-Oz Value Pack, in that the show (and the character) had heart, brains, and courage, and also helped you find your way home (by which I meant, chiefly, that it reaffirmed cherished values).
Both shows are also somewhat cheesy, and cheerful about it, which is another of those cherished values, for me. I can't get into any fandom that doesn't have brains and a sense of humour. (Stargate, of course, also meets this requirement.) (Come to that, so do most of my friends, both online and off.) (She added parenthetically.) (And then went to bed.)
I love pop culture shorthand and being able to appropriate it for my own use. So thank you very much for this handy-dandy definition! I like it quite a lot.
However, it still does come to the fact that, apparently, Stargate itself understands this quality, considering the copious amount of random Oz references it makes.
I love shows that are cheesy and cheerful about it. It's a nice counterbalance for things in which the world is ending and no one is laughing or feeling fine while this is going on.
