Macaroni salad = good when I make it; always has crap in it that I don't want when somebody else makes it.

When my husband was in residency, one of his patients, a delightful - if medically complex - woman, published a cookbook, and dedicated it to him. My husband is a tall, fit, and very handsome fellow, and this kind of thing tends to happen to him, and he is always genuinely puzzled and humbled by it, poor innocent dear.
Well, anyway, we were both delighted and honored by the dedication and perused the volume together to find a recipe to test so we could write in our thank you note what we enjoyed about it. We could not find a single recipe we could bear to make. There were several different kinds of donuts, all of which she insisted must be deep-fat fried in lard. Ummmmm...No. Just no. And every single other recipe called for either hot dogs [Hot Dog Stroganoff was one] or mini-marshmallows, canned pineapple, and maraschino cherries in combination. I've hated hot dogs since childhood, and while mini-marshmallows are good in hot chocolate, fresh pineapple is nice, and we tolerate a cherry on the toothpick in our Shirley Temple, the combination is way too over-the-top on sweet.
Instead we wrote to say how honored he was, and how we were unable to say which was our favorite recipe because we were having such trouble deciding among the many available choices.
So cheer up, Jack. It could be twenny kindz of JelloTM mold, with twenny diffrent proporshuns of marshmellows, marasheeno cherriez, and pineappul.

Breathe such divine enchanting ravishment?
-John Milton
*sigh*
I'm afraid that mold/mould is just the sort of typo I am most susceptible to, where I know the difference, but my fingers have a mind of their own, and spell check says "It's a word! A real word! It must be right!" When I proofread my own stuff my brain works just like spell check. I catch 'em right quick in other people's work though!

But if I were a true Brit, wouldn't I be calling it a "jelly"?

Breathe such a fine marshmallow ravishment?
Mark what gelatin state she stands
Fruity and beaming with lettuce shreds;
This, this is she alone
Sitting with a cherry knob
In the centre of her blob.
